Oscar

Our new addition as of a few months ago.

Away we go!

I spent a few weeks looking at different ideas for making money on the internet. I have some ideas but I feel a need to take this in steps. I have extra money to invest; however, I thought it would be fun to do this from $0 dollars. Eventually, I'll add a counter that shows how much I've made to date. A balance sheet if you will. I may even take donations :-) (hey.. that is a part of making money too). I thought about this and I'm not keen on "give me a $1" sites; however, there would be a product exchange if it comes down to that. I'm cooking ideas now.

I have a few choices. I could trade my time and energy for money but I already do that and make a decent living. I want to suplement so that I can have additional funds to retire and not just sit in a lazy boy watching re-runs of 90210.

The book The Weekend Millionaire Mindset is a book I picked up that is a very good book that talks about saving money, debt (getting out of it), and just in general how to think about making money. Alot of us have it wrong.

I need to use leverage to make money. I need to leverage the efforts of others, as long as they too are able to make money, or leverage the money I already have. Since I'm trying to start at $0 there had to be some exchange for labor.

With that said, I found a site that I could spend just a little time and make some money. It's not a ton of money, but enough to start the ball rolling. The site is called CashCrate. It give you a nice portal to complete product offers and surveys in exchange for money. I thought all of these sites were a scam... but after a couple weeks, I actually did make money. I do not have th cash in hand yet but I'll keep you updated. Here's a screen shot of my earnings for March.

Why?

I've always had this drive to make money. It doesn't even have to be a lot of money, just enough to make whatever annoyance I have in my life go away. Obviously, Money doesn't fix everything; however, most will agree that it sure as hell makes it a little easier.

This view has caused me to push myself in pretty much everything I do in the realm of business. I wanted to be a manager, I became one. Then I wanted to be a programmer/Systems Engineer, so I became one. In just 8 Years, My salary went up 16 times the amount it was in 1999.

That brings me to now. I'm well paid and I really don't have much of a need for more money in terms of paying my bills. However, has I was planning for retirement one evening, I realized that I was not going to be able to live a retirement worthy lifestyle at the rate I'm going. I pissed so many years away prior to 1999 that I'm way behind on my investment planning.

This made me ask some crucial questions. How much do I need, and how do I get it? Being the tech/internet geek, I decided to search the net! Wow.. lots and lots of scams, but are they?

That's what this blog is about. I'm going to find out if they are scams. I'm a newbie to this game and I thought it would be fun to journal my journey. Why? If I'm successful, maybe readers can pull something from this and be successful themselves.

Also, one last note about motivation. I can't stand working for someone else. I want freedom to do what I want. I've always hated authority (which is why I use to be a long haired rocker).

So, here we go! Which me luck and lets hope we all learn something.
